Dublin

To begin our tour of Dublin, we visited the Guinness Storehouse, just like any good tourists would do! We enjoyed learning about the brewing process and educating ourselves about the years of advertising campaigns, both print and media.

After the Guinness Storehouse, at 2:30 PM, we arrived at the Leinster House. We were lucky enough to be sponsored by County Kerry senator Mark Daly, which qualified us for a private tour of the Irish equivalent of Congress- their House of Representatives, or Dail, and the Senate, or Seanad. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot.

Next we headed to Trinity College where we toured the campus and visited the Books of Kells. We walked home through the Temple Bar District, over the River Liffey and up O'Connell Street, past the General Post Office (site of the 1916 Easter Rising) in addition to many other historic monuments.

Following our romp through Dublin in the rain, we ate a lovely dinner of fish & chips and assorted dishes at the Kingfisher Restaurant, then called it a night, since we were all excited to get some shuteye!
